We are currently seeing patients on a first-come, first-serve basis for urgent care service. All patients will still be screened upon arrival for COVID-19 symptoms.

Our center offers rapid Covid-19 testing for patients experiencing Covid-19 symptoms. These tests are covered by most insurances. We also offer a Rapid Covid-19 PCR test for patients who need a PCR test for travel or return to work/school.

*Immigration physicals are still appointment only*

CDC Health Updates

The CDC has a public outreach program called HAN. HAN is designed to keep medical professionals and the general public aware of significant health risks, updates, and alerts. This alert system has multiple levels of severity. Some require immediate action, while others are used merely to inform the public. The most recent CDC health updates on HAN have been about specific events or incidents taking place across the country.

Medication Resistant Bruella

At the end of January, the CDC released a health advisory to let public and health officials know that the third case of medication-resistant Bruella had been reported. According to the CDC, these cases are all linked to the consumption of raw milk from a dairy farm in Quarryville, Pennsylvania. Some of the symptoms the CDC lists include:
• Fever
• Sweats
• Headache
• Fatigue
• Malaise

Brucella is especially harmful to pregnant women as it has been shown to cause miscarriage. The CDC urges anyone who has knowingly consumed raw milk in the last 6 months to visit their health care provider to discuss their risk of Brucella, especially if they’re displaying any of the symptoms above.

Carbon Monoxide Advisory

Towards the end of 2018, the CDC released a health advisory regarding carbon monoxide poisoning. The purpose of this advisory was to remind the general public and healthcare provider that in the event of a patient being diagnosed with carbon monoxide poisoning, others who could have been exposed should be seen as well. Carbon monoxide poisoning often shows no symptom besides a tension headache, which many people fail to realize is a symptom at all. In more severe cases, symptoms include:
• Dizziness
• Drowsiness
• Flu-like complaints
• Fatigue

Carbon monoxide exposure is especially dangerous for children, pregnant women, and those already suffering from a heart or respiratory condition. This health advisory came shortly after the impact of Hurricane Florence left many people along the coast turning to generators and other alternative power sources.
